MARK L. BAILEY<br />

Conservative Baptist <strong>Seminary</strong>, 1975; Th.M., 1977; Ph.D., <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, 1997.<br />
Dr. Bailey assumed the <strong>Seminary</strong>’s presidency after years of service as both a<br />
professor and the vice president for <strong>Academic</strong> Affairs as well as his role as pastor<br />
of a local church. He was a seminar instructor for Walk Thru the Bible Ministries for 20 years<br />
and is in demand for Bible conferences and other preaching engagements. His overseas<br />
ministries have included Venezuela, Argentina, and Hungary. He is also a regular tour leader in<br />
the lands of the Bible, including Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Rome.<br />

C. GARY BARNES<br />

<strong>Seminary</strong>, 1983; Ed.M., Columbia University, 1991; Ph.D., 1994.<br />
Dr. Barnes is an ordained minister, a licensed psychologist, and a licensed specialist<br />
in school psychology who specializes in marriage and family research, counseling,<br />
and training. After graduating from <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> he served as an assistant pastor for seven<br />
years and then earned a Ph.D. in psychology at Columbia University. While in the New York area<br />
he was a research project coordinator at NYU Medical Center’s Family Studies Clinic and later<br />
completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship through Parkland Hospital (<strong>Dallas</strong>) and the Child<br />
Guidance Clinics of <strong>Dallas</strong> and Texoma.<br />
CHARLES P. BAYLIS<br />

Dr. Baylis teaches primarily at the <strong>Seminary</strong>’s extension sites as well as on the main<br />
campus. Dr. Baylis has been a Bible study teacher in many different contexts in<br />
addition to being an adjunct professor for the Word of Life Bible Institute. He has written a number<br />
of articles for journals and periodicals. Dr. Baylis greatly enjoys spending time with his family and<br />
in his off hours he can be found with his wife, Sharon, and their three children.<br />
D. JEFFREY BINGHAM<br />

Dr. Bingham specializes in the study of early Christianity. He has written extensively<br />
on the early Christian church and his articles and essays have appeared in leading<br />
literary journals. Before joining the faculty of <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> he pastored a church<br />
in West Texas and taught at several Christian colleges. He also has served as assistant dean for<br />
theological studies at Southwestern Baptist <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>.<br />
DARRELL L. BOCK<br />
Research Professor of New Testament Studies<br />

B.A., University of Texas at Austin, 1975; Th.M., <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, 1979; Ph.D.,<br />
University of Aberdeen, 1983; postdoctoral study, Tübingen University.<br />
Dr. Bock has earned international recognition as a Humboldt Scholar (Tübingen<br />
University in Germany) and for his work in Luke-Acts and in Jesus’ examination before the Jews.<br />
He was president of the Evangelical <strong>Theological</strong> Society (ETS) for 2000–2001, and serves as<br />
corresponding editor for Christianity Today. His articles appear in leading journals and periodicals,<br />
including many secular publications such as the Los Angeles Times and the <strong>Dallas</strong> Morning News.<br />
He has been a New York Times best-selling author in nonfiction, and is elder emeritus at Trinity<br />
Fellowship Church in <strong>Dallas</strong>.<br />
