Scholarships<br />

The Trevor Mabery Fund<br />

An endowment fund for tuition assistance<br />

established by the late Lucy L. Mabery-Foster in<br />

memory of her first husband, Trevor Mabery.<br />

The Nathan D. Maier Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund established by friends of<br />

Nathan D. Maier in his honor for a master’s-level<br />

student whose life exemplifies John 13:1–17.<br />

The Helen Mar Memorial Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund provided in memory of Mrs. Helen Mar to<br />

assist Chinese-American (50 percent or greater<br />

Chinese ancestry) Th.M. students in completing<br />

their studies.<br />

The Eugene H. Merrill Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund established by friends of Dr. Eugene H.<br />

Merrill. This award will provide tuition assistance<br />

for American students who share Dr. Merrill’s<br />

commitment to the study and teaching of the Old<br />

Testament and his passion for missions.<br />

The John L. Mitchell Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund for tuition assistance for third- and fourthyear<br />

students, established by Mr. and Mrs. Wallace<br />

L. Larson in honor of Dr. John L. Mitchell.<br />

The Lawrence P. and Nelda P. Moody<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund established by Mrs. Nelda P. Moody in<br />

loving memory of her husband, Mr. Lawrence P.<br />

Moody. This award will provide tuition assistance<br />

for Th.M. students.<br />

The Jane Denny Mulberry Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund for tuition assistance provided by Mr. and<br />

Mrs. James A. Stroud in honor of her mother, Jane<br />

Denny Mulberry.<br />

The John H. Netten Fund<br />

An endowment fund established by John H. and<br />

Arlene Netten for annual assistance to a first-year<br />

married student with children.<br />

The Arthur Mead Parce Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund established by Mr. Parce’s<br />

daughter, Priscilla Dewey, for tuition assistance to<br />

a student pursuing the Th.M. or S.T.M. and holding<br />

to the practice of baptism by immersion.<br />

The Pairsh-Vogel Memorial Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund established by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Vogel<br />

in loving memory of their parents, Mr. and Mrs.<br />

John Pairsh and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Vogel. This<br />

award provides tuition assistance for students<br />

with disabilities.<br />

The Ralph J. Payne Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund for tuition assistance provided<br />

by Mrs. Ralph J. Payne and others in loving<br />

memory of her husband, Ralph J. Payne.<br />

The Amy Fults Perkins Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund, established in the memory<br />

of Amy Fults Perkins by her loving husband, David<br />

A. Perkins, to assist needy students in completing<br />

their seminary education.<br />

The Mark and Peggy Rieke Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund established by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rieke for<br />

tuition assistance to Th.M. students in a Pastoral<br />

Ministries track who are actively involved in Christian<br />

ministry and who demonstrate substantial<br />

leadership qualities.<br />

The Harry K. Rubey Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund for tuition assistance<br />

established by Anne Todd Rubey in memory<br />

of her husband, Harry K. Rubey.<br />

The Ridgely and Margaret Ryan<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund provided in honor of Col. Ridgely and<br />

Margaret Ryan for tuition assistance for Korean<br />

or Korean-American students.<br />

The Cecil K. and Jessie M. Schafer<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund for tuition assistance,<br />

established by Adrian Gray, Nell Stevenson, Trude<br />

Harris, and Ted Schafer, in memory of their<br />

parents, Cecil Kasper Schafer and Jessie Mae Schafer.<br />

The Scholarship Assistance Trust Fund<br />

A trust fund established by a friend of the<br />

<strong>Seminary</strong> from which the earnings are used<br />

for tuition assistance.<br />

The Hazel Hinckley Seay Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund for tuition assistance provided by the late<br />

Mr. William H. Seay and Mrs. Margie Seay in honor<br />

of his mother, Hazel Hinckley Seay.<br />

The Christine Caskey Simmons<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />

An endowment fund provided by the children of<br />

Mrs. Christine Caskey Simmons in her honor for<br />

tuition assistance to a married student with children<br />

who has completed at least one year of seminary.<br />

The Chaplain (LTC) Francis R. and Lois Smidt<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />

An annual gift of $3,000 for tuition assistance<br />

provided by Mr. and Mrs. John Smidt in loving<br />

memory of his father and mother, Chaplain (LTC)<br />

Francis R. and Lois Smidt.<br />

The J. V. Smith Family Scholarship<br />

Endowment Fund<br />

An endowment fund established by the J.V. Smith<br />

family to provide tuition assistance for students at<br />

<strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>.<br />

The Craig Stephenson Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund established by Mr. and Mrs. John M. Stephenson<br />

Jr., in loving memory of their son Craig<br />

Stephenson, and used for the educational costs of<br />

married students with financial needs.<br />

The Richard Lehman Strauss<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />

A fund established by the Strauss family and<br />

friends in loving memory of Dr. Richard Strauss to<br />

provide tuition assistance to students preparing<br />

for pastoral ministry or missionary service.<br />
