Award for Faculty Excellence in Spirit
and Service
The David L. Edwards Servant-Leader Award
for Faculty Excellence in Spirit and Service
is given annually at the beginning of the fall
semester to the full-time faculty member
who, in the estimation of his or her peers,
best represents:
• A servant attitude toward faculty, staff,
and students;
• A willingness to invest one’s time and life in
serving students;
• An integrity of word and behavior—someone
whose commitments are faithfully met;
• A genuine humility toward the teaching/
leading role, being able to serve without
much notice or recognition; and
• A high standard of excellence in both task
and process, doing the best one can do
with the resources God has provided.
