THE FACULTY<br />

The greatest asset of a seminary is its faculty members because they<br />

translate the school’s philosophy into meaningful content in the<br />

classroom. <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> faculty devote much of their time to teaching,<br />

are current in their studies, and publish an impressive number of books<br />

and articles for theological journals and Christian magazines.<br />

RONALD B. ALLEN<br />

Senior Professor of Bible Exposition<br />

1995–. *<br />

Diploma, California Lutheran Bible School, 1960; B.A., California State<br />

University at Los Angeles, 1964; Th.M., <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>,<br />

1968; Th.D., 1973.<br />

In addition to his teaching responsibilities at <strong>Dallas</strong><br />

<strong>Seminary</strong>, Dr. Allen ministers as a guest professor or lecturer in schools<br />

in North America and in numerous countries abroad. He preaches<br />

in churches across the country, speaks at Bible conferences, regularly<br />

leads study tours in Israel, Turkey, and Greece, and has been a biblical<br />

and theological consultant for Maranatha! Music. He has written a<br />

dozen books, was one of the senior editors for The New King James<br />

Version, Old Testament, and was the Old Testament editor for<br />

both The Nelson Study Bible and The Nelson’s New Illustrated Bible<br />

Commentary. His ongoing research interests are in the worship of<br />

God and in studies of the grace of God in Hebrew Scripture.<br />

JAMES E. ALLMAN<br />

Professor of Bible Exposition<br />

2000–.<br />

B.A., University of Oklahoma, 1970; Th.M., <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong><br />

<strong>Seminary</strong>, 1977; Th.D., 1984.<br />

Dr. Allman was professor at Crichton College for 18<br />

years before joining the DTS faculty. Since 1987 he has<br />

been a visiting lecturer in Australia, Ukraine, and India, and also has<br />

conducted mission trips in those nations and in Siberia. He served as<br />

a translator for many of the psalms in the Holman Christian Standard<br />

Bible. Dr. Allman has written articles for Life and Work Directions for<br />

the Baptist Sunday School Board.<br />

VICTOR D. ANDERSON<br />

Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministries<br />

2006–.<br />

B.S., Michigan State University at Lansing, 1981; Th.M., <strong>Dallas</strong><br />

<strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, 1986; Ph.D. candidate, Intercultural Education,<br />

Biola University, 1999–.<br />

Professor Anderson, a 15-year missionary with SIM in<br />

Ethiopia, was also academic dean and professor of Old Testament and<br />

homiletics at the Evangelical <strong>Theological</strong> College and a teaching elder<br />

of the International Evangelical Church. He recently served as adjunct<br />

professor in Christian ministries and leadership development at the<br />

Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California. His doctoral<br />

research focused on rhetorical and educational features of preaching<br />

in an oral-based society. He and his wife, Cindy, have two children.<br />
