DOUGLAS M. CECIL<br />

B.A., University of Cincinnati, 1974; Th.M., <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, 1984; D.Min., 1991.<br />
Dr. Cecil is an ordained minister who complements his <strong>Seminary</strong> responsibilities<br />
by training students to serve in hospitals around the <strong>Dallas</strong> area. He is currently<br />
the acting director of the Association of Evangelical Ministers (AEM) and a Professional Certified<br />
Chaplain with Hospital Chaplains’ Ministry Association, a ministry he has had for the past<br />
23 years. A former officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Cecil is very active in his local church and<br />
a regular tour leader in Israel. His teaching interests, writing, and research are in the area of<br />
evangelism and pastoral care.<br />

ROBERT B. CHISHOLM JR.<br />

While Dr. Chisholm enjoys teaching the full breadth of Old Testament Studies, he<br />
takes special delight in the major and minor prophets. He can take the intricacies<br />
of those books and communicate them for marketplace use, as evidenced in his published texts<br />
on the prophetic literature. Dr. Chisholm recently published Handbook on the Prophets. He was<br />
the translation consultant for the International Children’s Bible and for The Everyday Bible, and is<br />
senior Old Testament editor for the NET Bible.<br />
THOMAS L. CONSTABLE<br />

<strong>Seminary</strong>, 1966; Th.D., 1969.<br />
Dr. Constable is the founder of <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>’s Field Education department<br />
(1970) and the Center for Biblical Studies (1973), both of which he directed for many<br />
years before assuming other responsibilities. Today Dr. Constable maintains an active academic,<br />
pulpit supply, and conference-speaking ministry around the world. He has ministered in nearly<br />
three dozen countries and written commentaries on every book of the Bible. Dr. Constable also<br />
founded a church, pastored it for 12 years, and has served as one of its elders for over 30 years.<br />
DORIAN G. COOVER-COX<br />

Dr. Coover-Cox has been a part of DTS for over 20 years as a student, an adjunct<br />
teacher, and associate editor for Bibliotheca Sacra. Originally she came to the<br />
<strong>Seminary</strong> to become a better editor; she found, however, that what she enjoys<br />
most about editing is helping people learn. While still an editor, she has found her niche in the<br />
classroom as well, encouraging students as they learn Hebrew. She has a special interest in the<br />
Book of Exodus.<br />
CHARLES W. DICKENS<br />
Chair and Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling<br />
2003–.<br />
B.S., Texas Wesleyan University, 1991; M.A., Southern Methodist University, 1993; Ph.D., 1995.<br />
Prior to joining the faculty Dr. Dickens served as an associate pastor in the areas<br />
of pastoral care and counseling. He has previously served on the faculty of Biola<br />
University and has taught seminary and graduate-level courses internationally in<br />
Austria, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. Dr. Dickens is professionally active in the American Association<br />
of Christian Counselors and also serves as a contributing editor for the Journal of Psychology and<br />
Theology. He is married to Rebecca and they have two children: Joshua and Jillian.<br />
