The library has seating for 584 readers,<br />
including two conference rooms and two<br />
small-group study rooms. Library staff with<br />
theological and library degrees assist students<br />
and faculty. The general collection is strong<br />
in systematic and historical theology. It also<br />
emphasizes biblical exegesis and interpretation,<br />
with exceptional holdings in biblical<br />
languages, archaeology, and the history and<br />
culture of the biblical world.<br />
The Media Center makes available audio<br />
recordings, videos, slides, and other media<br />
formats. It has an audio studio, video suite,<br />
computer lab with 24 computers, and AV<br />
lab/classroom with 10 computers. The<br />
Doctoral Study Center in Mosher Library<br />
contains 41 doctoral cubicles, and another<br />
24 are in Turpin Library.<br />
Special collections include rare books<br />
and pamphlets relating to the theological<br />
heritage of the <strong>Seminary</strong>, rare Bibles, a<br />
collection of codex and papyrus manuscripts<br />
in facsimile and microform, and faculty publications.<br />
The archives include institutional<br />
records, papers of <strong>Seminary</strong> presidents, and<br />
the papers of the International Council on<br />
Biblical Inerrancy.<br />
The library’s holdings are accessed through<br />
BIBLOS, an online catalog using the SIRSI<br />
system. BIBLOS is available on the web at<br />
http://library.dts.edu. Through the library<br />
website, students can access an array of<br />
bibliographic databases, such as the ATLA<br />
Religion Index, and full-text periodicals<br />
and books.<br />
Students and faculty have borrowing<br />
privileges through TexShare at most academic<br />
and some public libraries in the state of<br />
Texas. The library participates in the AMIGOS<br />
Bibliographic Council, the Online Computer<br />
Library Center, the American <strong>Theological</strong><br />
Library Association, and the Southwest Area<br />
<strong>Theological</strong> Library Association.<br />
