The Merrill F. Unger Award in Old Testament<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by Professor and Mrs. Donald R.<br />

Glenn in loving memory of Dr. Merrill F. Unger, former professor of<br />

Semitics and Old Testament Studies at <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong><br />

(1948–68), to the graduating master’s-level student who has done the<br />

most outstanding work in the Department of Old Testament Studies.<br />

The Henry C. Thiessen Award in New Testament<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by Dr. and Mrs. John A. Witmer in<br />

loving memory of Dr. Henry C. Thiessen, former professor of New<br />

Testament Literature and Exegesis at <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong><br />

(1931–36), to the graduating master’s-level student who has done the<br />

most outstanding work in the Department of New Testament Studies.<br />

The J. Dwight Pentecost Award in Bible Exposition<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by Colonel Chester R. Steffey and<br />

by Barney and Karen Giesen in honor of Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost,<br />

distinguished professor emeritus of Bible Exposition, who has served<br />

on the <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> faculty since 1955. The award is presented to<br />

the graduating master’s-level student who has done the most outstanding<br />

work in the Department of Bible Exposition.<br />

The John F. Walvoord Award in Systematic Theology<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by the John F. Walvoord family in<br />

loving memory of Dr. John F. Walvoord, former professor of Systematic<br />

Theology (1936–1986) and president of <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong><br />

(1952 to 1986), to the graduating master’s-level student who has done<br />

the most outstanding work in Systematic Theology.<br />

The Edwin C. Deibler Award in Historical Theology<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by Dr. and Mrs. John D. Hannah<br />

in honor of Dr. Edwin C. Deibler, former professor of Church<br />

History (1968–83) at <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>, to the graduating<br />

master’s-level student who has done the most outstanding work in<br />

Historical Theology.<br />

The J. Ellwood Evans Award in Pastoral Ministry<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by the Ross Smith family in loving<br />

memory of Dr. J. Ellwood Evans, former professor of Pastoral Ministries<br />

(1948–75) and dean of students (1961–80) at <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong>,<br />

to the graduating master’s-level student who has done the most<br />

outstanding work in the Department of Pastoral Ministries.<br />

The Lucy L. Mabery-Foster Award in Biblical Counseling<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by family and friends in loving<br />

memory of Dr. Lucy L. Mabery-Foster, professor of Pastoral Ministries<br />

in the Biblical Counseling program (1990–2002) at <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong><br />

<strong>Seminary</strong>, to the graduating student who has done the most outstanding<br />

work in the Department of Biblical Counseling.<br />

The Howard G. Hendricks Award<br />

in Christian Education<br />

An annual award of $250 is given by Dr. and Mrs. Michael S. Lawson<br />

in honor of friend and mentor, Dr. Howard G. Hendricks, chairman<br />

of the Center for Christian Leadership and distinguished professor<br />

who has served on the <strong>Dallas</strong> <strong>Theological</strong> <strong>Seminary</strong> faculty since<br />

1951. This award is presented to the graduating master’s-level student<br />

who has done the most outstanding work in the Department of<br />

Christian Education.<br />
