A European Tour for Phis and Families
GOLDEN LEGIONNAIRE, VETERAN OF THIRTY
CROSSINGS, PLANS TRIP FOR THIS
Aspecial European tour for Phis and
their families is being planned for the
coming Summer by William M. Beale, Lombard
'98, a veteran of more than thirty
years in the Travel Service field. A Golden
Legionnaire, Brother Beale has stated that
he hopes to make this trip—his 31st to
Europe and possibly his last as an active
Director—in the company of his Phi Delt
brothers, their wives, children, and friends.
EDITOR'S NOTE: It should be understood that
the tour mentioned in this article is not an
officially sponsored Phi Delta Theta tour.
Brother Beale referred his plan to general officers
of the Fraternity who gave it their approval
as a purely individual effort. This notice of
the proposed tour is carried in THE SCROLL in
behalf of Brother Beale, a director of many
years' experience, and for the benefit of Phis
who may be interested.

Itinerary for the proposed tour appears
as part of this story. Passage both ways will
be by air, and the trip involves sight-seeing
in six different countries of Europe. The
cost is 11390 per person. Concerning this
price, Mr. Beale writes: "This identical
tour setup, when operating as Beale Travel
Service, sold for very close to $1600; now
we have no office expense and have reduced
advertising and other items that someone
had to pay for . . . [you have] my assurance
that each guest who pays $1390 is getting
exactly the same tour as the one we sold
formerly for $1600."
Brother Beale is preparing an advertising
folder that will be sent to all who request it.
This contains many details regarding the
tour, including descriptions of the places
of interest, hotels, general information, etc.
It refers to the hotels as "the best in Europe

in guidebooks, and which, he asserts, add
greatly to the enjoyment of many scenes
visited.
