relative to competition on own campus, 44 are lower, 17 unchanged.
This chart is based in part upon the 1951-52 Scholarship Reports of the National Interfraternity Conference.
The "Index" represents the percentage by which the scholarship of a chapter varies from the AU-Men's
Average of its campus. For example, Illinois Beta ranked second of nine fraternities at the University of Chicago
and was 23.13% above the AU-Men's Average on that campus.
Some chapters are not included in the chart because their schools do not publish comparative grade standings
for fraternities. Two chapters, Kansas Gamma and Washington Beta, are listed simply plus in relation to
the All-Men's Average, no figures being available for computation of the degree of variation from it.
