ment Department at Tech and sponsor of
the local club for ;nany years. By noon the
entire group had become Phis, and each
proudly wore a badge of Phi Delta Theta
on his chest. The first initiation service and
those which followed on Friday afternoon
and evening and Saturday morning were
conducted by T.G.C. John H. Wilterding
and SCROLL Editor Hayward S. Biggers in
the roles of President and Warden, respectively.
The initiation scene then moved to the
Parish House of St. Paul's Episcopal
Church. The new Phis assisted in the initiation
of the rest of their undergraduate
brothers and a horde of Silver Key alumni,
who gathered from a score of Texas cities,
from cities in neighboring states—and one
