from a health standpoint, being maintained (ILO 147). 33 CFR 151.63 (b)<br />

Background: In addition to having plans and procedures for handling waste, cruise ship crews that<br />

handle waste must be familiar with those plans and with the safety measures contained in those plans.<br />

What to check for: Check that crew understand procedures, and know where they are and who to<br />

contact if they have questions. Check for presence of safety equipment like eye protection, gloves,<br />

eye wash stations, etc. And general handling of the Hazmat materials.<br />
