HELPLINE is an information and referral telephone
center; it is not a funding source for individuals in
financial need. However, HELPLINE successfully
networks with other organizations who provide
financial assistance and direct services.
HELPLINE accomplishes this by providing trained
staff/volunteers who work at the Telephone
Center and are available to: listen to the callers’
need(s); assist in finding available solutions, and
provide appropriate information or referrals to
agencies or services that may be able to meet
those needs.
Each caller’s problem(s) will remain confidential.
HELPLINE staff/volunteers, and people to whom
the caller are referred, understand how difficult it
is to talk about personal problems with others and
will strive to protect the caller’s right to privacy.
This program is a direct service of the San Juan
United Way.
HELPLINE works with community businesses in
obtaining donated or damaged items to assist
agencies in stretching their budgets.
Open Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.
*Ex-offenders welcome.
Provides multiple services for youth, including
recreational activities, employment services,
promotion of positive personal development,
prevention activities, and alternate activities at
the local chapters.
Open Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM; Boys and Girls
Club open Monday-Friday, 2 PM-7 PM.
