This program is available to women who are on
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF),
and have basic English skills to understand the
curriculum.
The Job Training Program entails an initial 8 week
intensive training session which includes:
< 3 weeks of life skills training (conflict,
stress and time management, budget
planning, self-esteem building, parenting,
domestic violence awareness, and
communication);
< 3 weeks of employability training (job
interviews, applications, resumes,
management model, dress for success,
work ethic, and customer service
techniques);
< 4 weeks of computer training (Windows
2000, Microsoft Office Suite and Internet
skills); and
< 2 weeks structured internship.
GED instruction is offered on site every week for 6
hours per week.
To apply must set up an appointment for intake;
apply for monetary support through ISD, and
attend NM works orientation.
Open Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4:30 PM.
*Ex-offenders welcome.
