Major investments are underway for technology generation through research for<br />
diversification and improvement of agricultural production and improved extension and<br />
information services from NARS, CGIAR and extension agencies. Among <strong>the</strong> major<br />
investment projects: <strong>the</strong> National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP), implemented<br />
by a number of GOB agencies including BARC, DAE and KGF, and <strong>the</strong> DANIDA-GOB<br />
funded Agricultural Extension Component (AEC of <strong>the</strong> ASPS -II). O<strong>the</strong>r significant<br />
investments focus on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction – as <strong>the</strong> DAE<br />
and DLS parts of <strong>the</strong> Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP-II) and<br />
<strong>the</strong> Community based adaptation to CC & water security (LDCF). O<strong>the</strong>r investments<br />
implemented by various agencies focus on programmes for dissemination of information on<br />
integrated agricultural development system and farm mechanization.<br />
