Compared with the control sample, harvested from
nearby agricultural field, the loan soil’s chemical
characteristics, which formed the waves are similar,
except for the carbon content, which is significantly
higher (4.56 to 8.18 compared to 3.98). This
difference, minimal in appearance, has, however, very
important consequences in defining the environmental
conditions, namely the choice of forest species that
can best vegetate under these conditions.

Compared to humic-gleyic soil described in Prejmer
(Chiriţă et al., 1967), it shows the following
characteristics of the loan soil: very close pH, lower
carbonate content (especially compared to deep
horizons): 4.6 to 8.2 compared to 2.1 to 21.3 g/kg,
much lower clay content (especially compared to deep
horizons): 14.4 to 28.8%.
4. Meteorological and topographical
factors which determine the quality of
air in the plains of Bârsa depression
After Marcu M. (2004), the sector located in the
plains of the Bârsa depression, does not pass the
height of 560 m and includes the neighborhoods
Bartolomeu, Tractorul, Triaj, Astra and has:
• Wind regime actively involves polluted air masses
from the west and north - west to the neighborhoods
Tractorul, Triaj and Zizin;
• Relatively poor rainfall regime (593.7 mm, annual
average quantity) provides in a lesser extent selfpurification,
decontamination and washing of
sedentary powders atmosphere from the surface of the
leaves, pavements and roads;
• Great night radiative cooling capacity of the air and
intensification of heating process by sun exposure
during the day, causing frequent temperature
inversions, favors accumulation of pollutants near
sources of pollution;
• The phenomenon of thermal inversion layer is often
accompanied by the radiative fog covering the
topoclimate piedmont sectors, the intramontane
valley, or the pre-mountain slopes up to 700-750 m;
• The effects of sheltering against wind speeds are
lower and the average speeds of over 6 m / s have a
high enough frequency, especially in the
neighborhoods Bartolomeu, Tractorul and Triaj;
• Winds of a high and very high intensity have an
increased frequency and atmospheric calm does not
exceed 25% annually.
5. Air quality in the neighborhoods
Carierei - Bartolomeu and Stupini
Spruce foliar analysis carried out in 2005 to a network
of 55 spruce from different districts of Brasov (Bolea
and Chira, 2005), revealed that in the Bartolomeu
neighborhood (Carierei Street area - Bartolomeu
Station), closest to Stupini, the level of foliar
substances (which indicates the level of air pollution)
was as follows:
- Average sulfur pollution (below level of toxicity,
PT: 1500 ppm): 1071.4 ppm;
- Medium to high fluoride pollution (PT: 10-15 ppm):
12.4 ppm;
- High chlorine pollution: 1090 ppm;
- Very high sodium (natrium) pollution (more than
PT: 200 ppm): 706.1 ppm;
- High lead pollution (slightly over PT: 10 ppm): 10.2
ppm;
- High copper pollution (over PT: 10 ppm): 16.23
ppm;
- Weak zinc pollution (as PT: 60 ppm): 19.4 ppm;
- High iron pollution (over PT: 300 ppm): 550.7 ppm;
