The operational solid radioactive waste generated by the EPR will include paper, plastic, metal
waste and components arising from maintenance operations in the reactor, concrete and
electrical parts. The waste will be collected and stored according to waste type in marked bins
at designated locations within the WTB. Typically plastic bags, drums, containers or a
combination of these items will be used to store waste.
Various wastes are shipped from different locations of the controlled area to the WTB:
· VLLW and LLW;
· ILW.
