NASR 8 URD-056 The Medspiration URD is the first of a series of background documents that define what data products will be produced by NASR Medspiration, the detailed processing model (DPM) that will be used (which in the case of Medspiration is the GHRSST-PP processing model), the input and output definitions for the service (IODD) and, the project validation plan (PVP) that will coordinate the validation of Medspiration data products and services. 8 URD-057 Collectively these documents form the primary inputs to the ESA Data User Element project planning and implementation NASR process. 8 1.2 Objectives of the Medspiration project 8 URD-058 There is no body or project presently existing in Europe able to provide a European contribution to GHRSST-PP by fulfilling sys.0010 the tasks of a European area RDAC (EURDAC). The aim of the Medspiration project is to provide this service to the GHRSST-PP and directly serve the interests of European users with dedicated SST data products. 8 URD-059 Medspiration will implement a finite demonstration service for the European area based on the GHRSST-PP GPM [RD-3] which has been developed by the International GHRSST-PP Science Team. 8 URD-060 The Medspiration service will deliver GHRSST-PP SST data products to specific operational and scientific users in the European area and to the GHRSST-PP in real time and as an ftp pull service to registered clients. sys.0020, sys.0010 sys.0030, sys.0060, sys.0070 DIS.0120 CTR.0570 8 URD-061 In addition, Medspiration will generate and deliver ultra-high resolution (~2km spatial resolution data products) for specific sys.0040 © 2004 SOC Page 104 of 193
