System Requirements Document
MED-SOC-RS-001_1
Issue F
6. EXPANDABILITY REQUIREMENTS
6.1 General
SR.EXP.SYS.0010/I Configuration files shall be used to implement configurable code
as input parameters are expected to evolve.
SR.EXP.SYS.0020/I The system shall be extensible and flexible to accommodate new
satellite sensors and the potential failure of others. Software shall not be dependent on
any single input data stream and be capable of ingesting new data streams with minimum
additional development.
SR.EXP.SYS.0030/I Extensions are envisaged, in a further stage (not within
Medspiration), to provide UHR products for the Nordic Seas 48N-75N 12W-70 E 2-3 km
and Black Sea 40N-48N 27 E–42 E 2-3 km
6.2 Generation of L2P
SR.EXP.L2P.0010/I It is foreseen that data streams will change throughout the life of
the GHRSST-PP. The GDS must be capable of bringing new data streams in and out of
the processing system without affecting other components of the system.
SR.EXP.L2P.0020/I Future revisions of the GDS will most likely use near
contemporaneous wind speed observations from other satellite instruments.
SR.EXP.L2P.0030/I
modified.
It is expected that the methodology used to derive IPCV may be
SR.EXP.L2P.0040/I The GDS procedures for the derivation of IPCV and MPCV
values described in GDS WP-ID2.1.1.14 are quite basic. It is clear that significant
improvements can be made leading to a better quality of pixel error statistics. It is
foreseen that this component of the GDS will be upgraded following further research and
development within the GHRSST-PP Diagnostic Data Set.
SR.EXP.L2P.0050/I It is foreseen that minor modifications to the procedures used to
control the quality of input data and derive L2P data files may be required once significant
experience is gained with the GDS.
SR.EXP.L2P.0060/I As experience is gained in the distribution and application of
GDS data products, data product format changes are foreseen based on user
requirements and data delivery constraints.
