3. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
3.1 System Requirements
3.1.1 General
SR.SYS.0010/I Medspiration shall implement a finite demonstration service of GHRSST-
PP products for the European area.
SR.SYS.0015/I Medspiration shall demonstrate, and sustain for a 12 month period, an
operational service able to ingest, process and disseminate large volumes of satellite
data in near real time.
SR.SYS.0020/I Within the scope set out by [RD-1], the Medspiration System shall
conform to the GHRSST data processing specification (GDS) as defined in Version 1
Revision 1. [RD-3]
SR.SYS.0021/I If later versions of the GDM provided by the User contain significant
differences from the version specified in SR.SYS.0010, those changes will be adopted by
Medspiration only with the agreement of both the Contractor and the Customer.
3.1.2 Input data
SR.SYS.0030/I The system shall be capable of ingesting those level 2 SST, wind speed
and surface solar irradiance (SSI) data products available in real time that are identified
in 5.2.1, 5.2.2 and 5.2.3.
SR.SYS.0040/I The system shall be capable of protecting the conditions of use (if any)
imposed upon input data by the provider.
3.1.3 Data products
SR.SYS.0050/I Medspiration shall deliver GHRSST-PP L2P products for the Atlantic
Ocean in near-real time (as defined by the GDS) to the GHRSST-PP GDAC and to
selected operational users.
SR.SYS.0051/I The Atlantic product shall encompass the area 70S to 90N (to the ice
limit) and from 100W to 45E at a resolution of 1/12º (~10km)
SR.SYS.0052/I The L2P products shall conform to the specification in [RD.1], [RD.2] and
[RD.3] and detailed in 3.2.7
