3.3.1.3 Offline storage<br />

SR.ARC.0310/I The archiving system shall provide an offline storage facility for historical<br />

data (data files removed from the online storage space). This offline storage shall rely on<br />

the mass storage facility available at IFREMER.<br />

SR.ARC.0320/T The archiving system shall move data files from the online storage<br />

space to the offline storage space on a selective basis, for instance when the occupation<br />

rate of the online storage space is getting critical. This operation shall be initiated by a<br />

human operator as a maintenance task.<br />

SR.ARC.0330/T The archiving system shall be able to restore any offline data to the<br />

online storage space in reasonable delays (less than a few hours).<br />

3.3.1.4 Backup<br />

SR.ARC.0410/I Changes in the online storage space (new or updated data files) shall be<br />

saved every night using the IFREMER backup facility.<br />
