a. Introduction: (15 mins)<br />
Write this statement on the board.<br />
When is a good time <strong>to</strong> have sex<br />
Ask students <strong>to</strong> discuss this with their partner. Sex is an important emotional event.<br />
When would be a good age What would need <strong>to</strong> be in your life Collect feedback<br />
on<strong>to</strong> the board<br />
E.g. when you are married <strong>to</strong> someone you love; when you don’t feel forced or<br />
pressured.<br />
Say, “Remember the principles <strong>of</strong> healthy and responsible sex:<br />
• Both the man and woman should want <strong>to</strong> have sex – sex should not be<br />
forced, should not break the moral values <strong>of</strong> the man or woman and should<br />
not be when you are <strong>to</strong>o young<br />
• Sex should be private, pleasurable and in a loving relationship<br />
• Sex should be responsible and safe<br />
• Sex should not hurt anyone emotionally, physically or spiritually<br />
• Sex should not be against your values<br />
• Sex may have consequences – physical and emotional<br />
b. Main Activity: (30 mins) What would young men and women ask about sex<br />
In same sex groups students should brains<strong>to</strong>rm likely questions young men and<br />
women would ask and what an accurate and positive response should be from a<br />
peer. Students should use the Resource Book <strong>to</strong> plan the answers. For example,<br />
Q: Do you have <strong>to</strong> have an orgasm <strong>to</strong> have sex<br />
A: No, sometimes the man or the woman do not have an orgasm. Everyone is<br />
different and sex is always different.<br />
Q: Can a girl get pregnant the first time you have sex<br />
A: Yes, if she has started her periods she can get pregnant the first time she has<br />
unprotected sexual intercourse<br />
Ask students <strong>to</strong> display the questions on scrap paper and ask them <strong>to</strong> walk around,<br />
read at least three and check them carefully.<br />
Highlight good questions and accurate answers.<br />
