Plan and produce a colourful and relevant poster for young men and women on A3 paper which<br />

conveys clear and accurate information about how <strong>HIV</strong> is and is not transmitted. This should be<br />

<strong>of</strong> a high standard and be able <strong>to</strong> read clearly from the back <strong>of</strong> the room. It should be in English<br />

and vernacular. There should be one powerful image drawn by you.<br />

Value: This assignment is worth 12% <strong>of</strong> the overall course marks<br />

Length: One poster. Minimum size: A3<br />

Assessment criteria:<br />

1. Poster: Neat and colourful Does it have a border Can it be<br />

read from the back <strong>of</strong> the room Does it have one main hand<br />

drawn image outlined in black ink Is it A3 or larger<br />

2. Behavioural message: Does the poster have clear and<br />

accurate information about how <strong>HIV</strong> is transmitted and not<br />

transmitted Does it show gender equality<br />

3. Slogan: Is the main slogan catchy and large enough <strong>to</strong> be<br />

read from the back <strong>of</strong> the room Is it written in language a young<br />

person would understand Does it have a clear message<br />

4. Information: Does the poster have more information on it<br />

written in smaller text than the slogan Is the information<br />

correct Is it written in both vernacular and English (e.g. You<br />

cannot catch <strong>HIV</strong> from caring for someone, from hugging them,<br />

from sharing food or buai etc)<br />
