Working in same sex pairs participants should demonstrate correct use <strong>of</strong> both the<br />
male and female condoms. Their partner should assess them using the key points in<br />
the Resource Book. They should also assess their confidence. Do not force anyone<br />
<strong>to</strong> demonstrate if they don’t want <strong>to</strong>. They can still observe and assess.<br />
Ask students <strong>to</strong> look at the list <strong>of</strong> why condoms fail. Say, “Condoms are very effective<br />
at preventing the transmission <strong>of</strong> <strong>HIV</strong> but only if you use them correctly and every<br />
time you have sex.” Ask them <strong>to</strong> complete the Self Study tasks in the Resource<br />
