1 Please address <strong>the</strong> harm <strong>the</strong>se large ships with <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

2 toxic cargo of coal and bunker fuel will have on our much<br />

3 beloved orcas, salmon and near-shore ecology from<br />

4 increased noise, potential sinking and related fuel<br />

5 spills.<br />

6 Also, please include in <strong>the</strong> EIS all costs to <strong>the</strong><br />

7 economy as related to those of us who are connected to<br />

8 <strong>the</strong> scientific study, mapping and recording of <strong>the</strong> flora<br />

9 and fauna of <strong>the</strong>se marine waters, and <strong>the</strong> related past,<br />

10 present and future research and restoration projects if a<br />

11 sinking disaster should occur. Thank you <strong>for</strong> taking my<br />

12 comment today.<br />

13 SANDY WYLLIE-ECHEVERRIA: So unlike <strong>the</strong> court<br />

14 reporter, I do not have a neutral stance on this<br />

15 particular issue. My general concern is that <strong>the</strong> scope<br />

16 and magnitude of <strong>the</strong> project is enormous, and that <strong>the</strong><br />

17 predicted impact from it is not well understood.<br />

18 I'm concerned about my generation and <strong>the</strong><br />

19 generations to follow, that we could be making decisions<br />

20 that will impact <strong>the</strong> lives of those people to come and<br />

21 <strong>the</strong> species that rely on <strong>the</strong> marine and coastal and<br />

22 near-shore environments <strong>for</strong> many years into <strong>the</strong> future.<br />

23 So caution is my primary concern that we approach<br />

24 this subject and scope and magnitude of <strong>the</strong> project with<br />

25 a great deal of caution and wisdom, and hopefully we'll<br />
