1 trade <strong>for</strong> jobs? How much of our grandchildren's<br />
2 future are we willing to trade <strong>for</strong> jobs? How much is<br />
3 <strong>the</strong> orca worth to us, <strong>the</strong> salmon, <strong>the</strong> herring at<br />
4 Cherry Point? How much is breathable clean air and<br />
5 water, pure and replenishing, worth to us?<br />
6 Could we leave <strong>the</strong> coal in <strong>the</strong> ground <strong>for</strong> a<br />
7 day in <strong>the</strong> future when we truly need it and <strong>the</strong> means<br />
8 of turning it into a clean burning feel has been<br />
9 invented?<br />
10 Could we grow up a little and learn to share<br />
11 our combined riches, learn to be good stewards of <strong>the</strong><br />
12 earth's resources which surely belong to us all.<br />
13 The earth is suffering from too many of us<br />
14 wanting too much too fast. We're squandering <strong>the</strong><br />
15 future in a rush to get all we can right now. The<br />
16 earth is dying by increments; it could be saved by<br />
17 increments. This is <strong>the</strong> good place to start. No<br />
18 coal.<br />
