Product Certification Installation System
Kindred Commercial strongly believes in product certification. We strive
to have our products designed and certified to meet all applicable
standards. Certification marks are important as they offer peace of mind
to installers, specifiers and consumers alike that the product has been
independently tested and certified to meet the recognized standards for
safety and/or performance, of the recognized certification bodies in
North America.
IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials),
NSF and CSA (Canadian Standards Association) are among the leaders
for Standards Development Organizations in North America. These
organizations are accredited by ANSI American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) and Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to certify
plumbing fixtures.
NEW HARMONIZED STANDARD PUBLISHED
CSA and IAPMO, the two leading Standards Development Organizations
entered into a joint agreement to harmonize the Canadian CSA B45.4
and the ASME A112.19.3 series of standards into one bi-national
standard. The agreement was designed to help streamline the testing
and certification process for stainless steel plumbing fixtures.
The new harmonized standards for stainless steel plumbing fixtures
(ASME A112.19.3-2008 / CSAB45.4-08) have been published and are
available for purchase on both the CSA and ASME websites.
Universal Installation System (UIS)
Kindred Commercial developed the UIS to accommodate a unique
market preference. There are many trades people who choose to
preinstall faucets to the sink ledge before mounting the sink into the
countertop. This meant that a separate part number would be ordered
to allow for this installation method. Our Product Development
Engineers got to work on a solution to meet the different sink
installation needs of plumbers and installers throughout North
America. The upshot of their months of development is the Universal
Installation System (UIS).
The UIS allows a faucet to be pre-mounted directly to the sink deck
before installation. The specially designed fastening system effectively
pulls down the back ledge of the sink for a tight, secure fit. Our EZ
Clamp system pulls down the other three sink sides for a sturdy, simple
and efficient sink and faucet installation process from start to finish.
These clips accommodate a wide variety of countertop thicknesses,
from ½” to 2 ¼”. Everything you need for installing the sink is in the
box. Another great feature is the bolt on the clips have 3 drive
options which allows the use of power driver:
- Robertson
- Slot
- Hex 3/8”
This new mounting system is truly universal; it allows for the
installation of the faucet either through the countertop or just through
the sink ledge. The UIS clips have a very low profile, so they do not
get in the way during a traditional drop-in installation. The template
provided in the box accommodates both installation methods.
