Saturdaypro gram students are also required to complete a 500-clock-hour fi eld experience. <strong>The</strong>fi eld experience cannot be completed on Saturdays. Students will not be able to completethe second-year re quire ments through the Saturday program. Concentration coursesare <strong>of</strong>fered only in weekday sessions, with a few courses available evenings.Advanced-standing program. All standards and policies <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Social Work and the <strong>Graduate</strong><strong>School</strong>, including admissions requirements, apply to students taking these courses.Field education placement procedures. <strong>The</strong> major objective in the placement pro cessis to match the student with the fi eld education setting that <strong>of</strong>fers the best potential forpromoting the student’s pro fes sion al development. <strong>The</strong> <strong>School</strong> is responsive to personalfactors related to location <strong>of</strong> placements and specifi c agencies, but it cannot assure anassignment tailored to personal situations. In accepting admission to the <strong>School</strong> andregistering in the M.S.W. program, the student has agreed to accept fi eld educationplacements assigned by the <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Social Work, as per the statement signed by thestudent on the admission application.Students who are employees <strong>of</strong> organizations that meet the <strong>School</strong>’s criteria for fi eldeducation agencies and that agree to the <strong>School</strong>’s requirements may apply to the coordinator<strong>of</strong> fi eld education to arrange a placement with that agency as one <strong>of</strong> the requiredfi eld education experiences.Field placements are in the Tuscaloosa area and throughout the state. Studentsare responsible for arranging transportation and paying any expenses related to fi eldeducation.Students may not enroll in fi eld education unless they have completed the requiredcourses for the year in which they are enrolled, or unless they are concurrently enrolled inthose courses. A student who has a grade <strong>of</strong> “I” on his or her record will not be allowed to
