<strong>2010</strong>-<strong>2011</strong> Catalog fine artsartistic endeavor. Being the only college in theUnited States with a residential artist colonyon its campus, we have a unique opportunityto enrich the educational experience of ourfine arts students. The presence of the VirginiaCenter for the Creative Arts and our ownstrong fine arts faculty have led to the developmentof this distinctive program. The Bachelorof Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Artsis directed toward students with multifacetedcreative interests. Throughout their course ofstudy, they regularly interact with students, faculty,and visiting artists from all of our artisticdisciplines. By examining methods of problemsolving within their own disciplines throughan active involvement with practitioners of allartistic media, students develop a rich understandingof the creative process and the problemsthat confront contemporary artists.The Fine Arts ProgramRequired:Choose a major area. Students must completethe requirements for one of the followingmajors: Dance, English and Creative Writing,Music, Studio Art, or Theatre.Additional course requirements:ARMG 105 (4) -Introduction to ArtsManagementChoose 1 additional three-credit coursein arts management.Choose 18 credit hours from the followinglist.
