The following credentialsare required:a) Application form, including a requiredapplication essay.b) School records. Official transcripts of allacademic work completed to date. <strong>Sweet</strong><strong>Briar</strong> <strong>College</strong> accepts the General EducationDiploma (GED) in lieu of a high schooldiploma for first-year, transfer, and TurningPoint adult students. Individuals with a GEDare encouraged to contact the AdmissionsOffice early in their application process.c) A recommendation of character and academicpromise from the high school collegecounselor, including information about thecandidate’s interests, attitudes, and activitiesas a member of the school community.d) A recommendation from a teacher in anacademic subject taken during or after 11thgrade.e) SAT I or ACT standardized test results. Allapplicants for the first-year class must takethe SAT I or the ACT before an applicationcan be evaluated. <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong> requires thatstudents contact the appropriate testingagency and have official scores submitteddirectly to the <strong>College</strong>. <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong>’s SATCEEB code is 5634, and the ACT code is4406.Students who are accepted to <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong>must reply to the <strong>College</strong> by May 1. An enrollmentdeposit of $500 is required at that time forthose who intend to matriculate at <strong>Sweet</strong> <strong>Briar</strong>.7
