2010-2011 Catalog Board of DirectorsBoard of Directors,2010-2011Sweet Briar Institute was incorporated as anon-stock corporation by Act of the GeneralAssembly of Virginia approved February 9,1901. The affairs of the College are managedby a self-perpetuating Board of Directors consistingof no less than 24 nor more than 35members elected annually at the spring meetingof the Board.Members of the Board are elected forthree-year terms and include the Presidentof the College, the President of the AlumnaeAssociation, and three alumnae class representatives,consisting of one representativefrom each of the three most recent graduatingclasses. A director (excluding the President ofthe College who has no limit on the number ofyears or terms he or she can serve) cannot servemore than three successive three-year termson the Board. Directors elected as officers canserve up to one additional three-year term, fora total of up to twelve successive years.The President of the College and the Presidentof the Alumnae Association are ex-officio membersof the Board.
