Theinterdisciplinary approach allows students toexplore various aspects of the area such asreligion, history, politics, and literature. Toprovide a deeper cultural understanding andto insure a minimum level of communicationskills in the major language of the region, onecourse taught in Spanish numbered above 202is required. Students are encouraged to consideran approved study abroad experience in LatinAmerica. The courses listed here may also beused toward the Latin American concentrationof the international affairs major. However, astudent may not declare both that concentrationand the Latin American Studies minor.
