After a devastating loss tothe defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints a week prior, the49ers were looking to regroup and put a halt to their two game skid. Smith’s 19-yd. completion to WR DominiqueZeigler provided San Francisco a new set of downs, but the 49ers couldn’tovercome a 15-yd. unnecessary roughness penalty by rookie T AnthonyDavis two plays later and were forced to punt. The Chiefs took advantage ofthe 49er miscues with 9:37 left to go in the 3rd qtr. as Cassel threw a deeppass over the middle to Bowe for a 45-yd. TD. Withthe opportunity of a comeback all but gone, Smith and the 49ers offensewere able to put a TD on the board with time winding down as WR JoshMorgan caught a 12-yd.
