In 2005,Denise and John were honored with the Outstanding Corporate PhilanthropyAward at the Catholic Charities/Catholic Youth Organization’sLoaves & Fishes Dinner for their remarkable contributions tothe San Francisco community.The couple’s passion for community involvement extends beyond theBay Area as well. John was recently honored with Loyola University’sStrich Medal - the highest honor awarded by the school - for hisongoing contributions to his alma mater. In 2008, Denise and Johnwere honored with the Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center’s 2008Great Communicators Award in recognition of their philanthropicleadership. They were also inducted into the Curbstone Coaches Hallof Fame in Boardman, Ohio, in 2007 for generously giving their timeand resources to the Mahoning Valley community.PUTTING FAMILY FIRSTThough Denise and John have accomplished much in their professionalcareers, they first define themselves as husband, wife andparents.Their eldest son, Jed, now carries on the family’s legacy begun by hisgrandfather Edward J. DeBartolo Sr., his Uncle Eddie DeBartolo Jr.and his parents, by serving as President and CEO of the 49ers.
