William Homer is in his third year in the 49ers player personneldepartment as the team’s personnel assistant.In his role, Homer assists the personnel department in a variety ofareas, including the evaluation and scouting of college and professionalplayers. He works extensively with the 49ers college scoutingdatabase.Homer joined the 49ers after serving as the Director of Personneland Football Operations for the East-West Shrine Game. From2001 to 2009, he oversaw much of the day-to-day operations forthe game, including the selection of the teams and their travel, whilealso working closely with scouts.A graduate of Syracuse University, Homer worked as a student managerat the school from 1997 to 1999, handling equipment duties andserving as an assistant for the offense. He earned a bachelor’s degreesin broadcast journalism and political science in 1999.Homer is a native of Hayward, CA. He resides in Fremont with hiswife, Marisa, and daughter.Brian Hampton is in his eighth season with the 49ers and hissecond as Director of Football Operations. Prior to his promotion,Hampton served as the team’s Manager of Football Operations fortwo seasons. He originally joined the 49ers as a football operationsintern in late 2003.In his current role, Hampton is responsible for contract negotiations,management of the club’s player <strong>com</strong>pensation budget andsalary cap in addition to various daily football operations duties.Hampton also manages the football operations R&D efforts, providingfrequent analysis on special projects for the Owner, Head Coach,General Manager, COO and other departments.Born and raised in Oakley, CA, Hampton earned a M.A. in sport managementfrom the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in businesseconomics from UC-Santa Barbara. While attending UCSB, Hamptonworked for the Santa Barbara <strong>For</strong>esters Baseball Club and the UCSBathletic department. He also spent two years directing the GauchoLocos, a club aimed at increasing fan attendance at UCSB sportsevents. In his senior year, Hampton was elected and served as Presidentof the Associated Students.Hampton resides in Palo Alto, CA, with his wife, Lindsay.
