Steve Urbaniak is in his 13th year with the 49ers and ninth asthe team’s equipment manager. During his first four seasons in SanFrancisco, Urbaniak served as an assistant in the equipment department.This season marks Urbaniak’s 13th year overall working in the<strong>NFL</strong> ranks.He is responsible for the many details that go into filling an <strong>NFL</strong>team’s daily needs. These needs include outfitting players andcoaches in safe and advanced equipment, as well as ordering andmaintaining all of the team’s equipment and sideline apparel. Urbaniakand his staff also transport team equipment to and from allgames, as well as assist coaches with daily practice needs.Urbaniak came to San Francisco in 1999 after serving a one-year internshipwith the Miami Dolphins in 1998. While in Miami, he servedas a member of the host team assigned to the Denver Broncos priorto Super Bowl XXXIII.Urbaniak attended East Carolina University, where he helped thePirates reach consecutive Liberty Bowls as a punter before spendingtwo years as the team’s student manager. He graduated with adegree in therapeutic recreation in 1998. A certified athletic equipmentmanager, Urbaniak is also a member of the Athletic EquipmentManagers Association. He added acting to his resume in 1998, playinga small role in the feature film “Any Given Sunday.”Urbaniak was born in Lowville, NY. He and his wife, Lindsay, reside inSan Jose, CA with their dog, Grady.Donovan “Doc” Dressler is in his 11th year as the assistant equipmentmanager of the 49ers.During his first stint in San Francisco, Doc served as a training campand partial season intern with the 49ers equipment department inthe summer of 2000, before taking on the head equipment managerduties from 2000 to 2001 for the Las Vegas Outlaws of the XFL. Docreturned to San Francisco in 2001 as an intern and was brought onshortly after in a full-time capacity to assist with the team’s appareland on-field equipment needs.Doc got his start in the <strong>NFL</strong> with the Miami Dolphins, where he internedat different times in the equipment department during1998 and 2000. During that time, he also had a stint as the headequipment manager at Northwestern Louisiana State from 1999 to2000.Doc was born and raised in Stillwater, OK, where he attended StillwaterHigh School. He then attended Oklahoma State University andserved as the Cowboys’ student equipment manager for six years.Doc has been a member of the Athletic Equipment Manager’s Associationsince 1995 and received his certification in 1999.He and his wife, Terri, reside in San Jose, CA, with their sons Jacoband Rocco.SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS \\46// MEDIA GUIDE
