Ejiro Evero (eeh-JEE-row EV-uh-row) is in his first season withthe 49ers after being named quality control coach on January 21,2011.Evero joined San Francisco after spending the 2010 season at theUniversity of Redlands as the special teams coordinator and safetiescoach.Prior to his stint with the Bulldogs, he spent three seasons with theTampa Bay Buccaneers (2007-09) as the defensive quality controlcoach. In his first year with the Bucs, Evero was part of a defensiveunit that ranked second in the NFL in total defense (278.4 ypg)and first in pass defense (170.5 ypg). The following year in 2008, hehelped the defense finish in the top 10 in total defense for a secondconsecutive season, ranking ninth in the NFL by allowing only 306.1yards per game.Before joining Tampa Bay, Evero spent two seasons (2005-06) asan assistant coach at the University of California-Davis where hehelped the Aggies to the Great West Conference Championship in2005. In 2004, he was a football intern at UC-Davis, while also servingas an assistant coach for the Davis High School junior varsitysquad.Evero was a four-year letterman at UC-Davis, starting at safetyfor three seasons. A two-time captain for the Aggies, he was twicenamed a Division II All-American (2002-03).
