Random PointsUse the Random Points command (Create > Points: RandomPoints) to create a defined number of points distributed randomly.PolygonsChapter 3: Create Tab 91Polygons are multisided geometric shapes which are arrangedso as to make a continuous surface for a 3D object. LightWaveprovides several tools for creating polygons, some of which usepoints you have already created, and some of which create thepoints as well as the resulting polygons.Pen ToolThe Pen tool (Create > Polygons: Pen) gives a quick way tocreate polygons on the fly, and creates the points as part of theprocess. You can choose between a Square or Sphere shape. Constantgenerally confines the points to the selected shape, while Fallofftapers off the point distribution along the perimeter. To create a polygon with the Pen tool:Choose Create > Polygons: Pen and click in a viewport with yourLMB. A polygon is created using points you define by clicking. If you drag with the mouse button, you can refine the point’sposition before you create it, which happens when you releasethe mouse button. You do not need to click in the same viewportfor each point. Once you have the polygon defined as you wish, you can finalise it by clicking the Pen tool off.If you wish to create multiple polygons, then once you havecompleted a polygon, move the mouse cursor to where you wishto place the first point of a new polygon, click the RMB, thencontinue to build the new polygon using the LMB.NOTE: While the pen tool is active, you can clickon and drag any point using the LMB to edit itsposition.HINT: If you create a new point in your polygon byclicking to closely to an existing point, Modeler canthink you are editingthe existing point and not create the point. If this is the case, simply click at a location that is not close to an existing point, then drag the new point to its desired location.
