296Utilities TabCommandsEdit User CommandsLightWave 10 - <strong>Modeler</strong>User Commands are user-defined names that are associatedwith a particular tool/plugin. You can also provide argumentsfor the plugin. Once defined, they can be used as standardcommands and assigned to a menu and/or key.NOTE: You can save a list of commands to a fileby choosing Utilities > Save Cmd List. This filewill list every action that is available as well asany arguments for the actions when applicable.Step 5: Click the Add button. Your command will appear onthe User Command pop-up list, along with any other UserCommands you have created.NOTE: You can set up multiple User Commandsusing the same plugin with different arguments.NOTE: The command arguments can be derivedfrom the LScript documentation available in PDFformat on the LightWave 9 CDs.To add a user command:Click Delete to delete the selected User Command. Selectingthe Clear All button will delete all defined User Commands, butdon’t click this unless you really mean it! There is no implicit undofor this. You will have to either re-add commands manually or useEdit> Preferences > Revert to Startup Preferences.Step 6: Click OK to close the dialog. The User Command willnow appear in any command lists.Step 1: Choose Utilities > Edit Commands. This will display theEdit User Commands dialog.Step 2: Enter the name you want to use. We suggest you alsouse the prefix CMD (e.g., CMDSTRETCHPROTON). This willkeep all of your defined User Commands togetherwhen they appear in a list together with standard commands.NOTE: If you need to change the pluginassociated with a User Command, you mustdelete it and then re-add it.Maintaining User Command SetsStep 3: Select the command you want to use on the Action popupmenu.Although the User Commands are a part of the mainpreferences, the Load and Save buttons let you retrieve and storeUser Command Sets that you develop.Step 4: If the plugin requires arguments, enter them in theArgument field.
