Uttar Pradesh (UP)UP is India’s most populous state with apopulation of 199.5 million (about 16% oftotal population) (or ranked 5th as a countryafter Indonesia), and a land area of 240,000square kilometres (about 7.3% of total landarea) - about the size of United Kingdom(UK). Punjab has a population of 27.7million (about 2.3% of total population) andis ranked 15th in India by population and19th by land area. Its land area is 50,000square kilometres (about 1.5% of total landarea). Bihar has a population of 103.8million (8% of total population) and a landarea of 94,000 square kilometres (2.9% oftotal land area).
