Sallie was born on September24, 1875 in Muscogee County, Georgia and is the daughter of Robert RossSnellings and Lenorah Ann (Johnson) Snellings. October 9, 1907, Muscogee County, Georgia............Benjamin Thomas Brooks (2.3.3.2.4.6), b. January 1, 1909, Muscogee Co., Geo.Joseph Henry Brooks, Jr. was a retail grocer in Columbus, Georgia. In 1910, Josephand Sallie Brooks were living in Muscogee County, Georgia. Joseph diedon September 27, 1918 in Columbus, Georgia and was buried there in theRiverdale Cemetery. Sallie (Snellings) Brooks continued to operate her husband’sgrocery business until she died on August 24, 1937. Sallie died in Athens,Georgia where she was suffering from tuberculosis. Zebulon Arthur Brooksdied on June 29, 1917 from the effects of a snakebite received on a fishing tripwith his father. Carrie was born on November17, 1895 in Muscogee County, Georgia. On November 28, 1915, Carrie Brooksmarried Ben E. Newsome in Muscogee County, Georgia and they had three children:............Dorothy Newsome, b. 1918............Sarah Newsome, b. 1922............Mary H. NewsomeBen and Carrie Newsome were later divorced and Carrie moved to Bridgeton,New Jersey. Carrie died there on December 30, 1977 and was buried in theOverlook Cemetery. Dorothy Newsome married a Mr. Wilson and was living inAtlantic City, New Jersey in 1977. Dorothy (Newsome) Wilson died in Augustof 1981. Sarah Newsome married a Mr. Kohler of Long Island, New York andwas living in Bridgeton, New Jersey in 1977. Mary Newsome is single and livesin Bridgeton, New Jersey.
