7-73 INTERACTIVE FAMILY HISTORIESWINIFRED BROOKS (1.5) is the daughter of Robert Brooks, Sr. and BramblyBrooks. According to Ella Kelley (DAR records), “Winnefred” was born onSeptember 7, 1748. According to Ella Kelley (DAR records), Winifred Brooksmarried James Butler in 1766. The author of this publication thinks that thesedates are much too early. However, the 1830 census show that Winifred(Brooks) Butler was born between 1740 and 1750 which is believed to be in error(probably should be 1750 to 1760). The birthdate of six siblings of WinifredBrooks are from 1759 yo 1776. Based on the birthdate of Winifred’s oldestknown child, Martha Butler (born 1775), it is estimated that Winifred Brookswas probably born around 1757 which is consistent with the birthdates ofWinifred’s siblings. The will of James Butler (Book A, Page 298, proven incourt, June 7, 1811) states that his family was:............Winnefred (wife)............Rebeccah Balentine (daughter)............Patsy Mosely (daughter)............Polly Shaw (daughter)............Ann Waldrum (daughter)............John Butler (son)............Thomas Butler (son)............Anthony Butler (deceased son)............James Butler (deceased son)James and Winifred Butler were the parents of at least nine children:............Rebeccah Butler............Martha Butler (1.5.2), b.
