<strong>BROOKS</strong> <strong>FAMILY</strong> <strong>HISTORY</strong> 7-365FRANCIS ASBERRY <strong>BROOKS</strong> (4) is the son of Williamson Brooks (3) andSusanah (Olliff) Brooks. Frank was born on August 22, 1837 in Talbot County,Georgia. On September 17, 1868, Francis Asberry Brooks married Rhoda Hillin Texas. Rhoda Hill was born on July 6, 1846 in Arkansas and is the daughterof John (Isaac) Hill and Mary Ann (Reed) Hill, both direct ancestors of the author.For additional information on the Hill <strong>Family</strong> History, see the section onJohn (Isaac) Hill. From 1870 to 1880, they lived in Hays County, Texas. Frankand Rhoda Brooks were the parents of seven children:............Julia Elvira Brooks (4.1), b. June 27, 1869, Hays County, Texas............James Maderson Brooks, b. September 29, 1870, Hays County, Texas............Benjamin Williamson Brooks (4.3), b. August 22, 1872, Hays County, Texas............Francis Martin Brooks (4.4), b. January 28, 1874, Hays County, Texas............Robert Wesley Brooks (5), b. January 1, 1876, Hays County, Texas............Ernest Brooks (4.6), b. March 28, 1878, Hays County, Texas............Thomas A. Brooks, b. November 14, 1882, Hays County, TexasOn May 30, 1883, Rhoda (Hill) Brooks died of consumption and was buried inthe Wimberley Cemetery. On January 6, 1884, Francis Asberry Brooks marrieda second time to Victoria Alabama (Glover) Deck. Victoria was born on July16, 1840 in Mobile, Alabama and is the daughter of G. N. Glover. Victoria(Glover) Deck had twelve children by her previous marriage: Margaret GainsDeck (born May 25, 1857), Miles Burke Deck (born February 29, 1860), MarkWilliams Deck (born September 19, 1862), Walter Scott Deck and FranklinCampbell Deck (twins, born April 19, 1864), Cornelious Deck and LebbeousDeck (twins, born January 13, 1866), Mary Ann Deck (born November 16,1868), Lee Pomeroy Deck (born June 22, 1870), Aquila Damaris Deck (bornMarch 9, 1872), Goodwill Nathaniel Deck (born July 4, 1875) and Lyddia VictoriaDeck (born September 5, 1877). Frank and Victoria Brooks also were theparents of one son:............Sylvester Wyatt Brooks (4.8), b. February 18, 1885, Hays County, TexasFrancis Asberry Brooks died on July 28, 1897 and was buried in the WimberleyCemetery in Wimberley, Texas. Victoria (Deck) Brooks died on March 16,1918 in San Antonio, Texas. Victoria was a great story teller and she knew theBible by heart. Many of her sons and grandsons were ministers, elders and deaconsin the Church of Christ. Excerpts from the diary and account book ofFrank Brooks are included in the back of this book. Thomas A. Brooks died onDecember 20, 1882 and was buried in the Wimberley Cemetery in Wimberley,Texas.
