EstellePerkins married James Walter Tilley. James was born on May 27, 1861 inStewart County, Georgia and is the son of Lewis Lee Tilley and Mary Ann Tilley.James received a degree from the University of Kentucky. He developed alarge merchantile business and later raised pure bred Hereford cattle. James andEstelle Tilley were the parents of five children:............James Walter Tilley, Jr.............Walter Tilley (2.6.5.5.2), b. February 2, 1891............Lewis Lee Tilley............Mary Tilley............Perkins TilleyEstelle (Perkins) Tilley died in 1922 and James Walter Tilley died on February25, 1924. On November 24,1913, Walter Tilley married Marvin DeKalb Pierce. Marvin was born on October2, 1890 in the County Line Community of Stewart County, Georgia and isthe son of Homer Lucius Pierce and Nancy Hepsey (Veal) Pierce. Marvin attendedMercer University and first worked for his father-in-law, James WalterTilley, as a bookkeeper. Marvin was at one time the President of the Bank ofParrott, Georgia and later opened the Pierce Exchange Bank at Parrott. Marvinalso owned a 1000 acre cotton farm in Terrell County, Georgia and a 1800 acreplantation in Randolph County, Georgia. Marvin and Walter Pierce were theparents of one son:............Marvin DeKalb Pierce, Jr., b. December 3, 1914Walter (Tilley) Pierce died on November 25, 1956 and Marvin Pierce, Sr. diedon January 7, 1967. Marvin Pierce, Jr. married Ruth Martin (born September15, 1914) of Shellman and resided in Winder, Georgia. Marvin and Ruth Piercehad two children: - Marvin DeKalb Pierce, III, b. October 28, 1933, - FrancisMartin Pierce, b. December 26, 1946.
