The bowhead callsare in the band between approximately 75 and 200 Hz; the seal call is entirelyabove 200 Hz (Figure 1.16a). Part (b) <strong>of</strong> the figure shows the signal afterfiltering around the 75-200 Hz band over the entire length <strong>of</strong> the signal: theseal call (and low-amplitude noise not visible in the spectrogram) areeliminated.When you filter a signal, the spectrogram does not change until yourecalculate the spectrogram (by option-clicking the SPG button, typingCommand-G, or selecting Make Spectrogram... from the Panel menu).28 Canary 1.2 User’s <strong>Manual</strong>
