Planning Your Configuration and Data Mapping Your Devices 2-5Mapping RediSTATION Input Data for a Block Transfer ReadThe RediSTATION operator interface’s input byte is mapped to thescanner’s block transfer read data table through a 62 word BTR. In thisexample, we use data file N9:0.12What’s Happening? The bits for the RediSTATIONoperator interfaces’s red and greenbuttons are mapped into the1771-SDN Scanner’s BTR datatable. The BTR data table is thentransferred via a BTR to the PLC-5processor’s input data file.Important: The 1771-SDN module onlymakes the data file available for theprocessor to read. The 1771-SDN doesnot move the data file to the processor.Note: This example uses1-slot addressing.RediSTATION Input Byte1 byte G R1R = bit for red button (STOP)G = bit for green button (START)= unused bits1771-SDN Scanner Block Transfer Read Data Tablereserved for module status word= bits reserved for modulestatus wordWord 0PLC-5 ProcessorInput Data File 1N9:0 0000 0000 0000 0000GRWord 1Word 2N9:1 0000 0000 0000 00GRN9:2 0000 0000 0000 00002Word 3N9:3 0000 0000 0000 0000N9:4 0000 0000 0000 0000Word 4N9:5 0000 0000 0000 0000N9:61 0000 0000 0000 0000Word 611 This mapping is based upon the example in chapter 4.The mapping for your system may be different.Example: The green START button fromthe RediSTATION appears in the PLC-5processor’s input file at address N9:1/1.The red STOP button from theRediSTATION appears in the PLC-5processor’s input file at address N9:1/0.Publication 1771-6.5.132 - June 2000
