Communicating with <strong>DeviceNet</strong> from Another Network 5-3Communicating with<strong>DeviceNet</strong> from aControlNet NetworkBefore performing this example the ControlNet network must beconfigured and running. A ControlNet processor (<strong>PLC</strong>-5C) is required.In this example the <strong>PLC</strong>-5C processor is configured as ControlNetnode 16. Use your own ControlNet <strong>PLC</strong>-5C processor’s configurationwhen performing this example.Configuring the <strong>DeviceNet</strong> Pass-Through DriverBefore you can communicate with the <strong>1771</strong>-SDN module via theControlNet network, you must first configure the <strong>DeviceNet</strong>pass-through driver (<strong>1771</strong>-SDNPT) with a ControlNet port. RSLinx,version 2.10 or higher, is required.To configure the ControlNet pass-through driver perform thefollowing steps:1. Start RSLinx.2. From the Communications menu, select Configure Drivers.3.
