4-6 Configuring the <strong>DeviceNet</strong> NetworkTIPRSNetWorx for <strong>DeviceNet</strong> performs a one-shotbrowse when you go online or choose the browsefeature. The software will poll for devices once anddisplay the results. If a node which was online latergoes offline, there will be no “live” indication inRSNetWorx. You must manually perform a browse todetect the missing node.To perform the browse, press thebutton.Setting the <strong>1771</strong>-SDN Node AddressOnce the devices are uploaded, their node addresses appear to theright of their icons. For the example application, the <strong>1771</strong>-SDNscanner module should have a node address of “0” (or “00”). If youneed to change a module’s node address, use the followingprocedure.TIPYou can use this procedure to change the nodeaddress of other devices on the network (e.g., thePhotoeye). You can also change the network datarate (baud rate) of some devices. Power must becycled for baud rate changes to take effect.If “00” appears to the right of the <strong>1771</strong>-SDN icon and you do not needto change the node address or baud rate of any device, skip theremainder of this section and go to “Configuring the I/O Devices” onpage 4-9.IMPORTANTThe network must not be active when performingnode commissioning on the <strong>1771</strong>-SDN module. Makesure the processor is in Program mode.(Note that this applies only to the <strong>1771</strong>-SDN.
