Hardware Setup 3-3Going Online to the <strong>PLC</strong>-5 ProcessorYou cannot go online to the <strong>PLC</strong>-5 processor over <strong>DeviceNet</strong>. In orderto download and run the example application program in chapter 6you must use the processor’s RS-232 connector, or download and runthe program via another network.Chapter 6 provides examples of downloading and running theapplication program via ControlNet, Ethernet, and Data Highway Plusnetworks. Chapter 5 provides examples of configuring the <strong>DeviceNet</strong>network over these networks.To go online to the <strong>PLC</strong>-5 processor via ControlNet:1. Set the <strong>PLC</strong>-5C ControlNet node address using the two 10-digitrotary switches on top of the <strong>PLC</strong>-5C module.For the example application we used node address 16.ControlNet <strong>PLC</strong>-5C processor’s NET address = 1610009020302 340501060980708 74562.
