Hardware Setup 3-3Going Online to the PLC-5 ProcessorYou cannot go online to the PLC-5 processor over DeviceNet. In orderto download and run the example application program in chapter 6you must use the processor’s RS-232 connector, or download and runthe program via another network.Chapter 6 provides examples of downloading and running theapplication program via ControlNet, Ethernet, and Data Highway Plusnetworks. Chapter 5 provides examples of configuring the DeviceNetnetwork over these networks.To go online to the PLC-5 processor via ControlNet:1. Set the PLC-5C ControlNet node address using the two 10-digitrotary switches on top of the PLC-5C module.For the example application we used node address 16.ControlNet PLC-5C processor’s NET address = 1610009020302 340501060980708 74562. Connect the PLC-5C’s ControlNet port to the ControlNet network.MoreSee Appendix B for information on installing and configuring theControlNet driver.
