Milliken, of the Schenley Apartments, joined a party of friends who left this week for Bermuda and will return the latter part of April. Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Mary Katherine Walker, daughter of the Rev. Dr. James E. Walker and Mrs: Walker, of Astoria, Long Island, formerly of Pittsburgh, to Mr. Drury Walls Cooper, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Drury Walls Cooper, of Montclair, New Jersey. Miss Walker is a graduate of Scudder School and is now president of the Scudder Alumnae Association. Mr. Cooper is a Rutgers College man, graduating in the class of 1923, and is now in the New York University Law School. Dr. Walker is now pastor of the Astoria Presbyterian Church. The marriage of Miss Charity Louise Brown, daughter of Mrs. Samuel Elliott Wakeley, of Celeron Street, to Mr. John Jay Rohrer, son of Dr. and Mrs. George R. Rohrer, of Lancaster, took place Wednesday in the Morning Chapel of Calvary Protestant Episcopal Church. The Rector, the Rev. Dr. Edwin J. van Etten, read the service at half past twelve o'clock, with only the immediate families and a few friends present. The bride wore a period gown of white wedding ring satin, built with V-neck and having a band of lace at the front and back. She carried her mother's prayerbook, with shower markers of calla lilies. Miss Ruth Lee Brown, a sister, and Miss Barbara Barr, of Boston, as the attendant maids, wore frocks of cornflower blue chiffon. Their large leghorn hats were banded with cornflowers and blue velvet and they carried Dresden bouquets. Mr. Henry A. Rohrer, of Lancaster, served as his brother's best man and the ushers were Mr. Wilbur A. Kindley, of Detroit, and Mr. David P. Reese, Jr., of Harrisburg. Following the ceremony there was a breakfast in the home Judge Harry R. Wilson, of Clarion, has announced the engagement of his daughter, Miss Harriette Wilson, to Mr. Harold Shields Hays, of Pittsburgh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick D. Hays, of Clarion. The wedding is planned for the early Fall. Miss Lide W. Shaffer, of the Negley Apartments, returned Wednesday from a six weeks' trip to Miami and St. Petersburg. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay Bughman have returned from Aiken to their home in Sewickley. Mr. and Mrs. David M. Kirk and their daughter, Mrs. Robina Kirk Quinby, who have been in Palm Beach during the Winter, are now at their home in Sewickley. April hostesses for social affairs in the Pittsburgh Country Club are Mrs. William L. Monro, Mrs. Donald McNeil, Mrs. Frank S. Slocum, Mrs. R. W. Kiser and Mrs. Clark Hammond. A luncheon bridge for women members will be given Tuesday, April third, at one o'clock; the usual Sunday evening buffet suppers will be continued with dinner dances Thursday and Saturday nights. Miss Georgianna and Miss Katherine Collin have returned from Westover School, Middlebury, Connecticut, to spend the Easter holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William W. Collin, Jr., of Edgeworth. Another Sewickley Valley girl home for the holidays is Miss Caroline Crittenden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Crittenden, of Shields, who is a student at the Spence School, New York. Wednesday, April twenty-fifth, the Women's Social Committee of the Shannopin Country Club will give a luncheon musicale in the clubhouse. Mrs. J. L. Rodrigues is in charge of the affair. Another country club affair for April is the luncheon bridge that will be given Thursday of next week in the South Hills Country Club. Mrs. J. Audley Pierce is the April hostess. , > ^ tTi Mr. William Larimer Mellon, Jr., and Mr. Matthew T. Mellon, of Darlington Road, are spending the Spring vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Larimer Mellon, at Hot Springs, Virginia. Also at the Springs for Easter are Dr. and Mrs. Robert Milligan and Miss Peggy Milligan ; Mrs. William G. Costin and her son, Mr. William G. Costin, Jr. The wedding of Miss Mary Louise Fawcett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis P. Fawcett, of Callowhill Street, and Mr. Richard Owens Ludebuehl took place Saturday evening, March twenty-fourth, in the Highland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dr. George C. Fisher performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, trimmed with rose point and duchesse lace. The full court train of satin was lined with flesh-tint chiffon and the lace-edged veil of tulle fell from a coronet of duchesse lace and orange blossoms. Orchids, white lilacs and lilies of the valley made up the shower bouquet. Miss Janette Wright, as maid of honor, and the matron of honor, Mrs. Lewis P. Fawcett, II., of Providence, wore gowns of light coral satin, built with uneven hems and side trains. Frocks of coral satin in a deeper shade were worn by the bridesmaids, Miss Elizabeth Humphreys, of Philadelphia; Miss Ruth Mc- Cauley, of Beaver; Miss Martha Brahm and Miss Eleanor Williams. They carried Spring flowers. Mr. Bradway Brown, of Morristown, New Jersey, served as best man and the ushers were Mr. Henry McAllister, of Denver ; Mr. Horace Roberts, of Moorestown; Mr. Lewis P. Fawcett, II., of Providence; Mr. Norman E. Wynn, Mr. Jack H. Miller and Mr. Albert Ludebuehl. A reception and dinner in The Rittenhouse followed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. J. Alex Hardy and Miss Leonora Ashmore have just returned from an eight weeks' visit in Florida, at Coral Gables and Miami. The condition of Mrs. Hardy's health necessitated the continuous stay as she is convalescing from a serious illness. After May first they will occupy their new home in Shady Avenue.
