8 at 8 o'clock. The speaker will
be Dr. Irvin D. Metzger, president
of the Pennsylvania State
Board of Medical Education. The
Byron W. King School of Oratory,
which began its commencement
program last night with a
class dance and will present two
plays, "Farm Folk," Monday
night and "The Hoodoo," Tuesday
night, with a pantomime
and pageant to come the evening
of June 7, will also have its
graduating exercises June 8.
June 8 is also the date for the
beginning of commencement
week affairs at three out of town
institutions, Allegheny College,
at Meadville; Grove City College
and Mt. Union College, Alliance,
Ohio. Allegheny's first event, at
3 o'clock the afternoon of June
8, will be the infraternity championship
baseball game in Montgomery
Field, with the college
dramatic clubs presenting "The
Importance of Being Earnest"
at 8 o'clock that evening in the
high school auditorium. June 9,
Alumni Day, will bring class
breakfasts and reunions at 9
o'clock; the Alumni luncheon in
the gymnasium at 12; a concert
at 4 in Ford Memorial chapel by
the Men's Glee Club; fraternity
dinners and reunions at 6 and
campus illumination at 9:15,
with a concert by the college
band. Sunday morning, June 10,
President Beebe will preach the
baccalaureate sermon in the
Stone Church at 10:45 and Dr.
Alexander H. Kemp, '15, will
address the Vesper Service on
the campus at 4:30. June 11,
class day, will open with the annual
meeting of the Board of
Trustees in Bentley Hall at 9:30,
followed by the Senior farewell
to buildings at 11 o'clock; laying
of corner stone of Arter Hall, by
Charles K. Arter at 1:30; class
day exercises at the Rustic
Bridge at 2:30; annual meeting
of Phi Beta Kappa in The Oratory
at 3; Phi Beta Kappa address
by Professor Nathaniel
Schmidt in Ford Memorial Chapel
at 4:30 and the president's
reception in Cochran Hall at 8
o'clock that evening. June 12
the day will begin with the academic
procession at 9:30, followed
at 10 o'clock by commencement
exercises, with the
Rev. Dr. Ralph W. Stockman as
